How to mesure dog to the muzzle?

To ensure a muzzle fulfills its function and is comfortable for the dog, proper fitting is extremely important. For this purpose, basic measurements of the dog’s snout should be taken.

1. Snout length
Measure the distance from the tip of the nose to the line of the eyes.

2. Snout circumference
Measure the circumference at the widest part of the snout (usually just in front of the eyes).

3. Fit
The muzzle should be stable but must not apply pressure.
For everyday-use models, leave a small amount of extra space so the dog can breathe and pant freely.

Remember that different breeds have different snout structures—brachycephalic (short-snouted) dogs require specially fitted models.

Important information regarding muzzle use

Choosing the right muzzle and using it correctly is crucial for the animal’s safety:

  • Veterinary and fabric muzzles are intended only for short-term use (e.g., during examinations or procedures)

  • They should not be used during walks or physical activity

  • A dog should not be left unattended while wearing a muzzle

  • For everyday-use muzzles, ensure the dog can breathe and pant freely

A muzzle is a tool that increases safety, but it should always be used according to its intended purpose.
