1. Muzzle length
Measure the distance from the tip of the nose to the line of the eyes.

2. Muzzle circumference
Measure the circumference at the widest part of the snout (usually just in front of the eyes).

3. Fit
The muzzle should be secure but must not apply pressure.
For models intended for everyday use, a small allowance should be left so the dog can breathe and pant freely.

1. Fitting the Muzzle

Before first use, the muzzle should be properly adjusted to fit the dog’s snout.

• Place the muzzle on the dog’s snout so that it covers the jaws and fits securely.

• Adjust the jaw circumference using the hook-and-loop fastener to match the size of the dog’s snout.

• Then adjust the strap with the buckle so the muzzle stays securely in place on the dog’s head.

A properly fitted muzzle should be stable but must not cause pressure or discomfort.

2. Proper Adjustment

The muzzle should be adjusted in a way that allows the dog to:

• breathe freely,

• naturally open its mouth and pant.

An overly tight fit may cause discomfort, so always ensure the dog can breathe naturally while wearing the muzzle.

3. Getting the Dog Used to the Muzzle

To help the dog remain calm while wearing the muzzle, introduce it gradually.

• Allow the dog to become familiar with the muzzle by sniffing it.

• Initially put the muzzle on for short periods of time.

• Gradually increase the wearing time, rewarding the dog with a calm voice or treats.

4. Safety Guidelines

• Never leave a dog unattended while wearing a muzzle.

• Regularly check the fit of the muzzle and the condition of the straps and adjustment elements.

5. Cleaning and Maintenance
