Using instruction oxygen mask

1. Product Purpose

The oxygen mask is intended for passive oxygen therapy and inhalation therapy (nebulization) in animals. The product enables the administration of oxygen and inhaled medications in clinical, outpatient, and field conditions.

The mask is designed for use by veterinarians and qualified personnel. It may be used by breeders only in accordance with a veterinarian’s recommendations.



2. Structural Components

The mask consists of:

  • a transparent, flexible front section allowing patient observation,

  • a neck circumference adjustment system (drawstring with stopper),

  • two connection ports for oxygen or nebulizer attachment,

  • one oxygen system adapter (included),

  • an additional technical zipper enabling ventilation and quick access.



3. Preparation for Use

  • Check the technical condition of the mask (material integrity, zipper function, port patency).

  • Connect the oxygen tube to one of the ports using the included adapter.

    • For inhalation therapy, connect the nebulizer to the appropriate port.

  • Ensure the oxygen source is functioning correctly and the flow rate is set according to clinical recommendations.



4. Applying the Mask

  • Gently place the mask over the animal’s muzzle, ensuring proper contact of the flexible front section.

  • Adjust the neck circumference using the drawstring and stopper so that the mask is stable but not overly tight.

  • Check the seal and patient comfort.

  • Start oxygen flow or begin nebulization.



5. Monitoring During Therapy

  • Observe the airway and patient response through the transparent section of the mask.

  • Monitor vital parameters (respiratory rate, mucous membrane color, SpO₂ if available).

  • If moisture builds up inside the mask, use the technical zipper to partially ventilate the interior.

  • If quick access to the patient’s muzzle is required, the zipper may be partially opened without removing the mask completely.



6. Safety Guidelines

  • Do not leave the patient unattended.

  • Use only according to a veterinarian’s instructions.

  • Do not use near open flames or ignition sources (increased oxygen concentration increases fire risk).

  • Avoid excessive tightening of the neck drawstring.

  • If the patient becomes distressed or the clinical condition worsens, discontinue therapy immediately.



7. Cleaning and Disinfection

After use:

  • Disconnect the mask from the oxygen source.

  • Clean surfaces using a medical-grade disinfectant.

  • Allow to dry completely before reuse.

  • Store in a dry place, protected from mechanical damage.



8. Storage

The mask should be stored in a dry, clean place, protected from direct sunlight. Storage in a position that prevents deformation of the transparent front section is recommended.
